The Littlefield Lectures, UT Austin
I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be delivering this year’s Littlefield Lectures for the History Department of the University of Texas, Austin. The lectures are based on research from my last two books, The Free State of Jones, and The Long Shadow of the Civil War:

Sorry to hear you won’t be up my way. The subcurrents of opinion and allegiances you raise are fascinating.
Glad you liked the blog. I’ve put up 40 so far. They were originally aimed at my primarily Latino and Asian immigrant readers, but now 2/3 of my readers appear to be native born Civil War folks. Still my favorite experience is when I see a discussion of The Immigrants’ Civil War series going on in Spanish.
