2014 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

Madison Square Garden can seat 20,000 people for a concert. This blog was viewed about 65,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Madison Square Garden, it would take about 3 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

  1. Congratulations on selling out MSG three times. It is good to know that people are interested and want to know more about our history, real history at that. Hope the movie version of “Free State of Jones” doesn’t mess it up too much, and I hope it becomes a blockbuster on the merits of the story. Thanks for all your good work.

    • Thanks for your good words of support, Doug. I am very pleased by the 2014 stats report, which shows over 12,000 more views than last year. Of course, the media’s announcement that the movie “Free State of Jones” is in the works–with Matt McConaughey on board to play Newt Knight–revved things up a bit. But it’s also true that many people are reading and commenting on the historical posts, and have been for over five years now. Like you, I’m delighted that Renegade South appeals to a wide range of people who are interested in some of the lesser-known histories of our nation.
